Three weeks ago, Jake and I worked for nearly an hour trying to rig together a bungee cord or a tie-down strap system for connecting my kayak to my bicycle. The bungee bounced off the back tire. The tie-down wouldn’t connect to the front of the kayak. We were hot, sweaty and putting as much effort into not being angry as we were into connecting the two modes of transportation.
Then we hit on an elegantly simple solution: s-hook. Here’s a photo gallery to demonstrate how you, too, can tow a kayak with a bicycle (and enjoy some time on the water).
